Accomplishments
Publicly funded addiction treatment spaces – Added more than 10,000 publicly funded addiction treatment spaces across the province.
Recovery communities – Opened 3 world-class recovery communities across the province, with 8 more in development, including 5 direct partnerships with Indigenous communities.
Virtual Opioid Dependency Program (VODP) – Expanded the award-winning VODP to connect Albertans with same-day access to addiction medicine specialists with no waitlist.
Child and youth mental health – Supporting young Albertans with access to mental health services, including on-going investments with CASA Mental Health and Kids Help Phone.
Recovery Alberta – Established Recovery Alberta as the province’s lead provider of mental health, addiction and correctional health services as part of refocusing healthcare.
Canadian Centre of Recovery Excellence – Created the Canadian Centre of Recovery Excellence to provide data-driven, evidence-based recommendations in recovery-oriented care.
